CVquencer offers a comprehensive solution for controlling analog synthesizers through CV/Gate, utilizing a compatible audio interface. It also outputs MIDI for external instruments and can manage synthesizer applications on an iPad, or operate independently with its own internal sample-based synthesizer.

The device is structured into four distinct layers, each containing 16 steps. Notably, each step is equipped with an eight-stage gate sequencer that determines its repetition characteristics: users can configure individual steps to rest, play a note, or tie to the subsequent repeat. This level of detail extends to note length, timing, velocity, modulation, playback probability, and glide—allowing for granular control at each step.

Each layer is independently customizable with its own clock divider and playback direction. When combined with the step repeat functionality, CVquencer excels in generating intricate and multifaceted patterns that surpass the capabilities of conventional step sequencers.

It is important to note that proper use of CV/Gate requires a DC-coupled audio interface and appropriate cabling. Additionally, CVquencer does not serve as an Audio Unit plugin due to its requirement for multi-channel access to an audio interface when producing CV/Gate signals.
